CAPS® Expert Appointed to the Board of Pharmacy Specialties’ Council

IRVINE, CA – June 28, 2018 - Central Admixture Pharmacy Services, Inc. (CAPS®) is proud to announce that Sharon Durfee, RPh, BCNSP, has been selected as a member of the Board of Pharmacy Specialties’ (BPS) Compounded Sterile Preparations (CSP) Pharmacy Specialty Council.

Durfee has been practicing pharmacy for more than 40 years, with extensive nutrition support experience in the hospital and homecare settings. She is board certified in Nutrition Support Pharmacy Practice, with multiple presentations and publications to her credit. Durfee also serves as CAPS’ clinical liaison to customers for their training, education, and consulting needs.

The CSP Pharmacy Specialty Council is composed of nine selected board-certified pharmacists that have been practicing sterile compounding and are accountable for the supervision of quality assurance and patient safety programs. The role of the council is to provide standardized requirements and develop examinations for the certification and recertification of pharmacist specialists to the BPS Board of Directors.

“To be selected out of 60 qualified pharmacists to serve on the CSP Pharmacy Specialty Council is a true honor,” said Durfee. “I look forward to beginning my tenure on the council and working with my distinguished colleagues.”

Durfee’s appointment was effective June 1.
